This past January I came to ceremony to ask for guidance, direction, & resources to move forward in what serving our community looks like for me. From here I have spent the past 11 months working towards bringing Pîsimoyâpiy Wellness Services to this place. It is time to invite you dear community to join me now.
I am sharing with you my offering & asking our community for help to secure a physical space for the next 6 months to continue developing & to provide services to our Indigiqueer & 2Spirit community members in Treaty 7.
By being able to secure space I will be able to provide more in person counseling with both individual & group options. This space will allow for Pîsimoyâpiy Wellness Services to continue growing into itself to better serve our 2SLGBTQ+ community members. I want this space to facilitate the collaborations & relationship being developed between Pîsimoyâpiy Wellness Services and others in Treaty 7. I am at a point where I need a physical space to move forward in the creation & imagining of something different. I am being encouraged & supported by our community to take this next step and I am honored & humbled to be here.
Behind the Name
Pîsimoyâpiy translates to Rainbow in Northern Cree.
The rainbow represents the galaxies and cosmos of this universe. It reaches across all people of the medicine wheel guiding us to healing and unity.
Alyjah followed Cree protocol to name Pîsimoyâpiy Wellness Services. Offerings and gifts were brought to the lodge and prayed about in the sweat.
Pîsimoyâpiy Wellness Services exists to participate in the healing of those living on Turtle Island.
